On their third album, ABHORRE, Montreal's CHRIST borrows elements found on the first two albums but pushes the boundaries a little further at all levels. The slowness, the repetitions and the sound atmospheres are always at the center of the compositions, but this time the guitars are heavier and more assumed, the quiet parts quieter while the synthesizers take us into darker corners and the drums keep us engaged throughout these long tracks.
